Alex Cuba brought a Spanish vibe to the main stage of Hillside Festival. This Cuban-Canadian singer and band delivered a bit of an, ‘I’m on vacation’ kind of vibe. A ‘Latin- Funk’ filled our ears and showed is why he is a Latin Grammy/Juno winner. Recording mostly in Spanish, Alex has four albums out and about in the music world, including receiving a BMI Latin Award for his songwriting on Nelly Furtado’s #1 Spanish hit “Manos Al Aire”. Cuba has also had collaborations with, Juan Luis Guerra, Juanes and Ron Sexsmith.
Listening to Alex Cuba play is an interesting ride of rock, soul, pop, and funk.
